Impairment Ratings

Dr. Polanco provides permanent medical impairment ratings and is a level II accredited physician through the Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation.

When an injured worker is determined to be at maximum medical improvement (MMI) and has not returned to his/her pre-injury state, physically and/or mentally, a permanent medical impairment rating is performed.  “Maximum medical improvement” indicates a time when a physical or mental injury has become stable and when no further treatment is reasonably expected to improve the condition.  All permanent impairment ratings in Colorado are based upon the American Medical Association Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Third Edition (Revised).
